i hope you guys know that woolay is working on a gigantic update, right?
Honestly unless the update is as big as the Terraria 1.2 update I don't think it will make the whole nearly a year waiting period worth it.
woolay needs to understand that you can't go silent for a year and expect your game to be continued to be followed by people.
if he would at least communicate with us it wouldn't be as bad cause we know he hasn't abandoned us with a half completed game.

His name isn't Woolfram :I
Anyhow I think he isn't naturally very social, and he is likely still overwhelmed by his success. I'd have a rough time communicating too, although I'd still at least give some idea of progress.

he does communicate.  he has not even changed the way he communicates with anybody in the past 2+ years.  he releases an update, goes silent for a few months at a time, then releases another update, etc. etc.

he's not acting professionally if that's what you're implying, and he is anything but a professional.  he's overwhelmed.

you say that now
the moment any amount of content comes out you'll all be on his richard.

just loving accept that this is how he works already.

Nah, it may get me to play again for about a day or 2 but after that it will probably still be the same stuff.
the only thing that could change this is a huge update that changes around how 90% of the game works.

I for one won't be "on his richard" because while the fact that there is a update is nice it still won't cover up the fact it took nearly a year for it to come out unless its a huge update.

This is the problem right here.
a Developer should NEVER go silent for more than a few weeks about their game.
If he would even just say "hey guys still working on the game I'm not dead" we wouldn't think that he's just taken the money and ran like we did.

This is vaporware.
I guarantee it.

Vaporware is stuff that never gets a real release. Cube World has a playable form, it just seems dead.

A Alpha version / Beta version that just says as-is sounds vaporware enough as well.

vaporware
Software or hardware that has been advertised but is not yet available to buy, either because it is only a concept or because it is still being written or designed.

It's available to buy. It's not vaporware.

i'll start playing this again in a couple of years

maybe by then there will be enough new content for me to feel like theres stuff to do.

what are you like the smartest business man on the forums now?  this is how he has been working ever since the game was first thought up.  he makes this game for you in his free loving time, he has a life and other thing to do.  but in the end, you were the one who shelled out $20 for an unfinished game and a promise that said game would be finished.  whether you believe that it will or not is your decision.  next time think twice before buying, do some research on the developer and their habits.

I'm pretty sure his silence wasn't as long back then as it was now.
he makes this game for you in his free loving time
this part of your statement would be inarguable if the game was free. but it isn't.
he has a life and other thing to do.
so just because he has a life means hes allowed to go completely quiet for a whole year without ever even taking a few seconds to just give us a update on whats going on?

Exactly, he promised a finished game, and so far he hasn't kept that promise.
People buy these unfinished games to support the dev so he can work harder on the game, not allow them to just disappear.

Isn't this game his main source of income?

Pretty much.
and he just takes in all the money and has nothing to show for it other than a half completed game.
