Okay, so what really are InnKeeps supposed to do?

Because so far they just seem to do really weird things.
Talk to one and a god-awfully loud sound plays.
All NPCs nearby reset.
Apparantly they did (or still do) reset mining nodes, like Iron Ore.

And they change the time.
It was 11pm, I enter an Inn to sleep, I talk to the Innkeeper, and it instantly changes to 7am.

Is this intended or a glitch?

Sets the time for 7am, it's used to not have to sit through night time, and IMO it should only work during that time.

I haven't managed to successfully play with anybody unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure you can't start anywhere but grasslands.
