Author Topic: Blockland Recommends: Games (finalizing submissions!)  (Read 11594 times)

I added some 15 games.

I already added them.
Added T2, then I noticed. But you forgot PS3 and Xbox360 for T2.

Oh god lol. I was waiting to see something stupid, just look at 197.

Just gonna bump this up from a few pages back.
Would like to see one billion games.

Added Speed Freaks (Known as Speed Punks outside of Europe), one of my favourite PlayStation 2 games and favourite mario-kart style racing games.
Probably really really rubbish now, but I enjoyed it as a child. Was rather good at it.

Edit:
Oh god lol. I was waiting to see something stupid, just look at 197.
Yeah, 197 might want to be removed.
Link to Meatspin isn't exactly necesarry. :/

Just went to add OddWorld Munch's Odyssey, searched for any official webpages, found the Oddworld.com website and was surprised to see that even that was shut down today for PIPA/SOPA Protest.
Never seen it before, so I've never seen how much activity Oddworld.com gets, but it's bizarre to see so many websites simultaneously shutting down all against one thing.

We're up to 199 games now. Most of them are unique, there's a couple repeat entries for Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim because some people just wrote "Oblivion" and some people wrote out the full names, so I've still got to collect those together.

Some of you also provided really stuffty links. You know who you are. FYI "walmart.com" or "www.google.com/#&q=myfavoritegame" are not good sites to link to. Try to link to a page that is either about the game or sells the game.

All spam up to this point has been moved to the spam page.

Final count for tonight is 204 games. I've made some progress on standardizing genres, but I've still got lots of ones that I'm confused about.

If anybody would like to help contribute to this project, I've got two pretty big tasks that you can get involved in:
  • Find links for games that still have "I would prefer not to answer." in their website column and post them here.
  • Look at all the notes and try and answer the questions typed in them. Most of them are related to the genres games fall into. I realize genre is a controversial thing and have witnessed people arguing over whether STALKER/Deus Ex is an FPS, RPG, FPS/RPG, and whether FPS/RPG is a real genre. Try and answer the question anyway. I want to try to fit everything into one category but I realize that's not going to work for some games.

And, of course, you can always submit more games. According to my calculations, we are still 999,999,796 games away from the 1 billion mark, but I'd settle for an even 400. I'm thinking about running nominations until the end of the weekend, unless the thread suddenly becomes wildly popular and it becomes apparent that people need more time.

EDIT: It also appears that some of you may already be using the spreadsheet to look through games. Once everything is finished I'll have the chart published on a nice webpage as part of a series. I'm hoping to also do Blockland Recommends threads for Music, Movies, Websites, and Books.

By the way, english wikipedia's back up.  Also, can I get editing privileges to add some websites?

Steam says Deus Ex is Action/RPG, so I'd go with that ..
