Important notes for users who like detail:
Stamina is required for all actions (when in combat/action sequences or areas)

Movement requires at least 10 stamina. Fast movement (when not using a vehicle) drains stamina, with running at 2 stamina per turn.

Health affects the maximum stamina your player has, determined by [player health/2] + 50. It also begins to reduce movement speed when at 30 health or lower.

Melee takes up stamina but results in relatively high damage depending on the weapon sharpness, weapon weight, and your stamina level.

Ranged does a consistent amount of damage at proportionally low stamina cost but lack of skill with the weapon as well as the class of weapon determines damage and accuracy. Accuracy, determined by gun barrel length and your stamina, also plays a role in weapon damage for firearms. Thrown items aren't affected by this; however whether or not they will hit is determined by accuracy.

Don't fight if you have low HP as that affects your max stamina and therefore how much damage you can do/how accurate you are.

The knock on my door made me look up. Through the window, I saw a man dressed formally, as if a businessman, although I never met any that promised to meet me at my house. I put the final piece of my pistol back in it's place and slipped it in my pocket, along with a magazine. Paranoid as I am, I left the clip out. I answered the door.

"Good morning sir," said the man immediately. "I am a lawyer here to obtain a vital piece of evidence needed to defend my client, Mr...?"

What's your name?

Mr. Regonald sir Pipingham the III

"John Lanning," you reply.

"Well, Mr. Lanning, my client, who was one of the former residents of this home, has left on this premises a specific piece of evidence that is vital to our case," he continues as he steps into my home. "Please understand that without this part, he can be put to death as an innocent man."

"Tell me where it is and I'll go see if its there," you say.

"Mr. Lanning, I was told to retrieve the item myself, which is buried in the backyard."

"Suit yourself." I lead him out to the back. "I'll go get a spade for you."

The man didn't reply, instead walking around, looking carefully at the fence. I went to my garage to get the spade. As I looked around, I heard an explosion.

Some boxes tumbled off the shelf near the doorway.
At this point, John is under your control. All actions and speech will now be dictated by you, as a community.

That is a hot car. I never knew there could be such a hot car in ASCII form.

It's your only car, as the other one was lost along with your friend and a cow on Highway 1

LOOK for SPADE. If found, place SPADE in INVENTORY. After that MOVE to backyard.

Commands are fun.

You go to the back and take a look around. Apparantly whatever blew up also blew up the lawyer too, as his body parts are scattered around. Your fence also is in extreme need of repair. Thankfully your backyard leads to the hills, otherwise you'd have some angry people on your hands as well.

Apparantly nobody noticed this yet, as one of your neighbors is out while the other home is vacant.

EXAMINE the area where the explosion occured. Maybe what he was looking for is what caused the explosion.

1 M1911 magazine
Penknife - Wt 1, Ws 10

Whatever exploded probably isn't what the lawyer was searching for, as you found a chest in the pit. It appears charred, but otherwise unharmed.

The lawyer's arm is nearby you, apparently gripping a trowel. His damaged head is a short distance off, along with his torso (with an arm and both legs still attached). Whatever was planted was pretty powerful, and he was probably pretty close to it when it set off.

You don't step farther into the pit in fear of the same fate.

Examine the chest.
Then, toss the lawyer's dead body parts into the pit to make sure there's no more bombs.

The box apparantly is just a normal box, excepting the fact its made of a metal that withstood that explosive at such short range. There's a modernistic design on the top, around a central circle depression. No other openings or designs can be seen.

You toss the arm in (after disengaging the trowel from the hand and stepping about 10 feet in) and nothing happens.  The box was not hit in the process. However, you realize the arm is only about 12 pounds, and that it might not trigger latent traps. You consider using the corpse but find it too heavy.

What next?

Jump into the pit, the bomb would have probably caused other traps to go off or be destroyed.
