Classic Ron Paul: Truth and Sanity

I'm not an expert on how it is agreed upon how evolution happened, but I'm pretty sure humans evolved seperate of primates, but seem similar because they originated in similar environment. It's kinda like how sharks and dolphins are different species, yet they have fins, gills, and similar bone structures to help fulfill the role of a fast moving ocean carnivore.

That's certainly part of it, a bit like how all fish that live in caves are blind even though they are different animals. Blind fish didn't evolve from blind shrimp. A large number of animals made the same adaptation. I think that that would be called convergent evolution.

Evolution suggests that there is a totally different animal that existed before monkeys and humans even existed. Two different animals, a monkey and a human, developed from a common ancestor through a process called speciation. Humans and monkeys are two totally different animals. Humans are not "advanced" monkeys. Monkeys never were humans, are not humans, and I do not believe there is any known process by which they can become humans.

That being said evolution is a process that happens over thousands of years. You can't just expect an animal to have developed sentience in a few generations, that's not how it works.

I'm just finishing up biology this semester, so most of the basic stuff is fresh on my mind. I feel slightly bad for not using this term (mainly because the teacher went in depth with it), but I was not sure if that was accepted as the truth.

This is why I respect you, Wedge. I see something like this and I can't even bring myself to try to respond intelligently. How can you talk to someone who honestly believes in their faith so hard that every shred of sound reasoning can be discarded in the name of total submission to an ancient book? How can you take them seriously?

I really try to be nice. I'd like to think everyone has some good in them, but I don't think it's within my ability to sympathize with someone who is that loving stupid. i haven't seen threads for any of the other candidates! right now ron paul supporters are the ones that are shoving their ideas down other peoples throats

You sure its not because you ignore them and just choose what sounds good to you and think later? there are a lot of stupid comments on news articles, yes, but there are smart ones too
