They're actually countermeasures, which if I remember correctly are thrown out to give heat-seeking missiles bullstuff signatures to confuse it and make it hit one of the countermeasures instead of the aircraft.

The last time America responded to an attack on American soil was, like, the war with Mexico.

In WWII, Hawaii wasn't a state and ever since America has fought the "War on Communism" and once the Soviet Union fell, the "War on Terrorism"

America needs to stay the forget away from other countries. I'm not saying they should retreat, but from now on they need to cool their stuff down.
