Garry's Mod stops responding when it first loads.

So, when ever I try launching gmod, it will load a little bit at the title screen, but then it will stop at any spot and then stop responding. I close and launch gmod again, and it will stop somewhere on the blue loading bar. I think it will go farther than the last time but I'm not for sure. Any help guys? The only source game I downloaded is Half Life 2.

verify game cache

uninstall and reinstall

theres no way to fix it without taking 15 hours

Reinstalling it fixed it.
