DIOS MIOS Lite

What is DIOS MIOS Lite?

DIOS MIOS Lite is based off of a now closed project named DIOS MIOS. It allowed users to play Gamecube Backups off of a USB stick or hard-drive. It only supported a handful of games. The project wasn't very successful, so they stopped development. A few years later, the leader of DIOS MIOS released the Source Code and a team took the code and started making a loader for SD cards. Since the Wii has two modes, Wii Mode and GC Mode, the GC Mode disabled USB support. It was unknown that GC Mode supported SD cards. This project is still in development, but it supports many games such as Timesplitters 2, Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time.

So wait, you can put GameCube games onto the SD card from your Wii and play them in an emulator or something?

I understand now.

I personally don't have any use for this considering I don't count on losing my disks or anything.

Neat regardless.
