anyone want to guess who the new shaken-up guy is?

i know who he is

anyways UPDATES

There doesn't seem to be anything particularly interesting through the night as you and Stojanow take turns on watch. Navaro manages to sleep through the whole night.

By morning, the fire has burned down to just a tiny flame. You carefully stomp out the hot logs and rouse Navaro. "We should probably get going," you tell them. "Any ideas, Stoja?"

Stojanow shrugs.

To the north, you can barely make out a small mountain range. To the west is the desert from the day before. To the east is the graveyard, and you don't know what's south. You make a careful note in your IMS (Internal Mapping System) that this pond is sort of a landmark.

Where to now?

Markus: Check if you still have your weapons in case something happens disastrously

and suggest to go north

"I think we should head north," Markus suggests. It seems like he's checking to make sure he has all his weapons, as if two of what you assume to be katanas are hard to lose. Glancing over at Stojanow, he gives a shrug.

"Well, north it is then."

The walk is mostly silent. You're leading the way while Stojanow bring up the rear. Looking around, the forest is rather pretty. There are all sorts of flowers and plants, it's hard to imagine anything dangerous being here. Bot beeps at you:

>MARKUS NAVARO HAS BEEN ADDED TO YOUR PARTY (:
>
>ENJOY YOUR TRIP, FRIEND.

That smiley face is getting a bit creepy.

The walk was longer than you thought, but the three of you make it to the foot of the mountains. Navaro sits down to rest, it's not surprising that he'd be tired from such a long trip. It looks like it's almost noon, which means you spent about an hour walking.

Stojanow is wandering around a little ways away, you aren't sure what he's looking for but you at least hope he finds something useful.

>IT'S A PRETTY PLACE, ISN'T IT?
>I USED TO LOVE COMING HERE WHEN I WAS A KID.

You roll your eyes at how silly that thing is.

Head up the mountain, explore, or go back?

Marcus: Murmur something in russian, and try to search the forest for anything interesting.

Marcus murmurs something in a language you don't understand. You figure it's best not to ask about it, seeing as how he's just wandered off into the forest like Stojanow did.

Unsure of what to do, you go see what Bot's been up to.

>HELLO AGAIN!
>IT'S DARK IN THERE, CAN I STAY OUT HERE?

You finally find the typing function, and input "No." The thing gives you a frowning face and shuts off.

Well, that went well. What now?

The brilliant idea of just throwing the darned thing away sounds comforting, so you just throw it in a random direction. You think you can hear it yell "wheeee" as it soars through the air before it seems to hit Markus in the head. He yells something you can't understand as Stojanow runs into the clearing.

"What was all that about?" Stojanow asks, a bit startled. You just shrug as Markus walks into the clearing, holding Bot. The screen reads:

>I LIKE THIS GUY.
>WE SHOULD BE FRIENDS (:

You sigh and take him back, quickly inputting on the screen "shut up next time before i drown you in a river" before you mutter an apology.

Should we go up the mountain?

Are we going to go somewhere or

Bot is now officially my favorite character.

Go, uh, walk into the clearing or something.

we are in the clearing

in front of us is that mountain

Oh.
Go, like, climb the mountain or something.

"We should head up that mountain," you suggest, trying to clear the awkward silence as Navaro rubs his head. Now why can't you hit things when you want to?

The three of you begin the trek up the surprisingly gentle slope. There are fewer trees here, but you think you can hear some running water.

After a few minutes, you reach the top of this petite mountain. The view is truly amazing. Up ahead, you can see what looks like a rather large building. To your left is the desert.

Where to?

Mark: Suggest to go to the building. And murmur in russian in a slightly irrirated tone.

updating in the morning because i'm busy rocket jumping while trying to shoot stuff (trust me it doesn't work)

okay update

"We should head for that building," Navaro suggests. He adds something under his breath. It sounds irritated, but you can't understand it.

"What are you saying?" you ask, directing it at that alien language he keeps speaking.

"It's none of your business," he snaps and begins walking towards the building. You cast a questioning glance towards Stojanow before following. He picks something up before taking up the rear of the party yet again.

You walk isn't quite as long as the one to the mountain, but it's still pretty long. When you arrive, it's probably somewhere around 1 to 2PM. Stojanow leans against a tree to rest, and you're thinking about doing the same when Navaro calls you over.

"Hey, Axio. Come look over here," you hear him call. Stojanow follows you as you make your way over to Navaro.

What you find is a rather large building, possibly housing some sort of above-ground base or something. Whatever it is, you aren't sure if you really want to go in. Bot beeps at you:

>I'M SURE THEY'LL WELCOME YOU KINDLY
>HAHA, BUT THAT WOULD BE LIKE SAYING ANYONE THERE IS STILL ALIVE!

You frown a bit before replying, "What do you mean?"

>THIS WAS A RESEARCH FACILITY.
>I USED TO WORK HERE WHEN I WAS A KID.
>
>THEY WERE EXPERIMENTING ON SOME SORT OF VIRUS
>BUT IT GOT FREE AND GAVE EVERYONE DEADLY HUGS.
>THEY ALL DIED.
>BUT ME (:

Oh dear.

Well?
