If this was your first time, that's unreasonable
If you had prior experience, I could kinda understand where she's coming from
It sounds like you don't, though.

okay enough about macaroni

You send a transmission out to the Station about the creature thing. You're soon patched through to DCB, who tells you that your first course of action should be to get off of the planet.

Leave or stay?

We might as well trust her
She doesn't seem under the control of the kkryonite stuff

Your travel paths to the ship- listed shortest run to longest- are as follows:

>CITY [UNADVISED]
>FOREST
>DRY RIVER
>WASTELAND

you're supposed to pick one of them

You ready your party and set off through the forest. Once you get out of the forest and into the plains though, you'll be in full view of the Kkryagnus. Well, at least it's safer than running through that city again.

Lia steps out of the cool shadows first. "I don't see anything," she reports back as Stojanow walks forward to stand next to her. "But the city is pretty totaled."

"No sign of that thing, either?" Navaro asks, and you can see a bit of worry in his eyes.

"Not a glimpse," she replies.

If it's not in the city, where would it have gone? To some hideout in the wasteland? Past the mountains on the horizon?

"Regardless of where it is, we should get out of here," Stojanow says firmly as he walks out in the open. He turns around slowly, as if looking around. "Actually," he says, quieter now, "let's just run."

He turns in the direction of the ship and starts running. You an Navaro run past Lia, who hasn't quite caught on yet, but she follows anyways. A quick glance over your shoulder confirms your suspicion: it went to the forest.

Thankfully, it doesn't seem to notice the four of you as you make a mad dash for the ship. By the time it notices, Lia's already taken the ship far out of it's reach.

Navaro leans against the door, catching his breath. "That wasn't a very pleasant surprise at all," he breathes. "How long until we're at the station?"

"About two hours," Lia replies, turning her chair around to face the three of you. Stojanow has taken a seat on the floor, while you took a more comfortable spot in one of the chairs by the wall. You watch quietly for a bit while he rolls an orange cube on the floor.

"Hey, you could make some sort of game with that," you comment jokingly.

"You think so?" He looks up at you, and you think he might've taken you seriously.

"Yeah." You think for a moment. "Something like... like..." You can't seem to put your thoughts into words, and you're glad when Navaro manages to say them for you.

"Something like how the numbers determine the outcome? A 1 being the worst, and 6 being some sort of overshot or a bonus?"

Stojanow looks thoughtful for a bit. "That might work," he says finally, leaning back against the wall.

"Actually, that sounds pretty fun," you hear Lia say excitedly. "It would be a good way to pass the time of the trip."

Navaro sits down a seat away from you, seemingly interested.

Should we play the game?

while we wait, i'm working on something...
