The reason of going into the fire is to avoid trees landing on you.
You should be able to survive a small tree landing on you in your combat suit form.
Anyways, keep shooting and head towards Stojanow. Have him go landmate.
You would keep shooting, but there doesn't seem to be anything to shoot at. Instead, you send Stojanow a transmission to switch to his landmate.
After a bit more running, you break into a wide clearing, greeted by combat suit Navaro and Lia, along with landmate form Stojanow.
"There you are," Navaro says, getting up from where he was sitting by the base of a rather thick tree. "Did you shoot that hovercraft back there?"
You give a nod and cast a somewhat worried glance back to the fire. You all should have a few minutes before it reaches you.
"Axiometra, I've been wondering," Lia begins nervously.
"What is it?"
"If we've terminated all the enemy troops, why hasn't the mission ended?"
The four of you fall silent, the only thing you can hear is the fire as it slowly spreads and your simulated breathing inside your helmet. You hadn't thought of that before, actually.
But then again, why would there be a large clearing here, perfect for switching to landmate, it there wasn't going to be something else coming?
