Thats why we all have to back up our systems

Bump

because...

I'M GETTING IT BACK!!! :D :D

we took it to CPU in Lonview last week and they fixed it I don't remember what it was right now but they fixed it! We're going to get it tomorrow

This pleases me :cookieMonster:

good for you. dont know what else to say really...

that's good enough for me XP

now be sure to back it up somewhere at least once a month, and keep the backup near the ground, away from feet, and unplugged when not in use. :D

First thing I plan on doing ;)

Here Incase It Happens Again.

luckily you got it man, if i lost my hard drive i would literally be depressed since 60% of everything i love is on there

really? That would be awesome

and about how much might the data recovery cost? Just like a general guess even would be ok
When a power surge fried my dad's work files, he paid something like a few thousand bucks to Data Doctors to get it back.

but it was all cool because he got paid like 10k for the work anywho.

When I reformatted and reinstalled Windows, I was surprised with how much I didn't have to keep.  My music was on a separate internal drive and other various places throughout the house (and on Google Music!), all my pictures were backed up to Picasa and saved on a portable drive, most games were steam games so that's easy, and most everything else is on some sort of Google product and stored in their cloud.

Google makes me so happy with the services they provide for free :D

-snip-
I think it was just something to do with the housing like it was broken or something it only cost a bit over a hundred

also I've got to decide what to get to use as a back up

Yeah, a headcrash didn't seem like it could be the problem if your external harddrive was off when it was thrown.

Though a scratched platter was not completely out of the question.
