Author Topic: Should I make a dagger?  (Read 3727 times)

Okay, so I found these odd black rocks in Utah that are very heavy (about 3-4 times as heavy as any other rock it's size) and are somewhat metallic.  In other words, I could get this cool heavy, black metal knife.  They are unlike any other type of rock I have seen before.  So I have 3 questions:

1)  Is there any facility that would allow me to melt them down and cast it as a knife blade?

2)  If there is, how much would the service cost?

3)  Would it be a good idea to try?

I only want this knife for display in my room and thought it would be cool to have hanging up in a display case on the wall.

Put it in a dark room and shine a black light on it.

If it glows, dispose of immediately.

I don't really think they have forges like that available to the public, assuming you could even find one.
My brother has spent the last few months searching for things like anvils and has created his own forge for weapon making, is pre cool.

But from what i can see probably not.

Would sure like to find one...

Probably will cost alot of money even if there was one available.

Goddamn if they can do this with dental stuff, than they can do it with daggers :C

Now I want to know what it is. I have never heard of a black metal the likes of which you describe, but geology is stupid compared to mycology.

Put it in a dark room and shine a black light on it.

you're right

is superman found you with any kryptonite, he'd kick your ass.

Why, what would it be?

SERIOUSLY?

HOLY stuff.

i have no hope for this generation.

Way heavier than coal.  I have some of that too.  It's hard, nonetheless, takes a hard swing of a hammer to break the rocks.  I had a suspicion once that it was depleted Uranium.

Keep it.

Uranium will bring health to your household.

Take it to a geologist or something :s
Weight is a key factor, as uranium weighs a lot.
If it's depleted uranium, dispose of it right away
stuff's still radioactive man. Barely, but still radioactive.

Fun fact: It is physically impossible to have a sphere of uranium bigger than 6 inches. Gets too unstable. Sucks for the guys who discovered that.
