Author Topic: I have a game idea. (edit: Postponed for a few years.)  (Read 12066 times)

Huge update:

My dad says that he shouldn't be doing all the work while I just do nothing. He says that I should learn Java and try to make it myself, and he will help me along the way. Sorry about this, try to understand my dad and his reasons. Please, don't troll about this. It only means this project will be postponed for just a few years. And, I will learn to use Java! Yay!

should i lock this, because its not being created currently?

The game sounds pretty cool. Will it be a pixelated/8-bit style?
What mechanics are planned? Will there be a notable physics engine or would it be cheap like with platformer 'physics'?
Will the ships have realistic features (power, hull breaches vent crew, etc)?

Considering the nature of your other thread, I think this could either be saved and used to track development or collect ideas and advice from the community.

A good java 2D engine?
Be careful of this, OP.
I can't tell you how many times I, or others, have had to scrap huge amounts of progress because they tried making an engine that just got out of control; was impossible to develop with because of its complexity, and on top of that, had numerous things implemented into it that weren't actually needed.

Thanks for that!
