Half-Life 2 is actually a lot worse than Duke Nukem Forever. Duke Nukem only receives so much hate because he was too late.

I'm currently playing through it right now for the first time. I'm at ravenholm so far. The game has been pretty slow so far and I'm kind of surprised I'm playing on hard and still wizzing by.

It's slow and easy which is why I quit playing it. Did you get to the rooftops in Ravenholm? There is one section with at least 40+ explosive barrels and a stuffload of zombies. Explode 1 barrel you'll start off a chain reaction and the other explosive barrels including the cars will all explode. Every headcrab zombie within the area will be dead.

I've been playing on hard and the enemies seem to go down easier than Half-Life 1.

There will never actually be an Episode 3, just like there won't be a Half-Life 3.
The next game in the series is Half-Life 2: Episode 2: Episode 1, followed by Episode 2: Episode 2, then Episode 2: Episode 2: Episode 1.
