I am editing it Si it's less whiny

I don't know if this will stop v21, but I hope it will.

The new update will bring true effort to the game, imo.
The way it is now, most people just use maps in place of good, in-depth, artfully-designed cubescapes.
And since people will be forced to build their own maps, this will in turn improve the end users' building skills and design capabilities.

Some maps like the bedroom/kitchen did have an ambient feel to them though, which will be missed.
I just hope the brick limit could be raised to compensate. hinthint

I love terrain but holy stuff the idea of torches and handheld flashlights makes me jizz.

This.

I'm with it.

Although I'm probably going to miss terrain, I know we'll all have fun with shaders and the new lighting.

im so sad and mad about v21 bbye all good and foavroit maps

that's 1/4 people that don't agree :(
We must convert the non-believers.

Most the people who doesn't like it aren't really needed for the community, so I don't give a forget if you quit.

Also, is shiny a bad thing? Blockland is a game about building with bricks, the LEGO kind of bricks.
LEGO bricks are shiny when there's light shining straight at them.
If you like this game there's no way you don'y like LEGO.

I never liked terrain anyway.

The way I see it, Blockland is an abstract game. In an abstract sandbox game the "goal" is to create realistic constructs. Why realistic? Well, it's because it's an abstract game therefore it'll be an acomplishment if you make an abstract game highly detailed and realistic. I sometimes browse the Gallery and look at amazing builds, and I say, "Holy stuff, this is beautiful." Then I realize, "holy stuff, this is a game of LEGO." It just makes me appreciate how much wonder there is in this game.

I also wonder how the hell nobody on the opposition of v21 can wrap the simple fact around their heads that we're not sacrificing terrain and interiors JUST for shadows and shaders. It's for an engine improvement. I'm not sure about its full extent as I am not a Torque techhead but judging by the fact that Badspot and Kompressor ditched a (supposidly) large part of the game it appears we're only seeing the surface of the iceberg.

And if you're complaining that there is going to be too much lag/brickcount hogging from brick built terrain, one of the possibilities from this update is higher performance, which means a higher brickcount limit.

i'm againts it, why?

the most common reason is we will lose terrains and interiors (such as: bedroom, kithen, gsf cities and other maps that are not related to slate).

another reason why i am againts it, its because a game doesn't matter about grapics. its about gameplay according to some gamers.

this update is cool and it will improve the game only to remove maps and slates will remain

no offense for those who are with it, besides everybody has its own opinion.

As far as I can see, people against v21 have used the same reasons to dislike it every single time.
I think that v21 will make us lose the most we have yet in a Blockland update, but we'll earn a whole lot more as well. I don't care about graphics or gameplay as long as you can keep them balanced. This update, in my opinion, will balance them a whole lot more.

i want them to release a 64 bit version so i can USE MORE RAM

Why is it that people fear losing the interiors and terrains so much? We will probably find a way to make higher quality maps in the future or what Wedge is doing.
