Author Topic: [New Forum Section] Build Techniques  (Read 1667 times)

In light of the incoming update, I feel like this would be a good section to have. Created perhaps as a subsection of the Gallery, users would be able to post build techniques they've come up with. They can also request techniques on the best way to make certain things, be it a wall, tower, or table. Each topic should have an uneditable poll that people can use to see if that technique gets compiled into a stickied megalist of the most popular techniques.

I feel like this would truly help people transition into the new "purebuild" era of Blockland.

EDIT: Very nice suggestion:
It should be called "Tutorials and Techniques", basically where people can post tutorials on events, or building certain things.
[Resource] Tree Pack
[Resource] Most useful brickpacks
[Tutorial] Making a table step by step
[Tutorial] Fishing with VCE
[Technique] 3 layer walls
[Technique] Brickcount Efficiency

EDIT2:
I added a poll. If 100 people say yes, I'll message Badspot or another admin to show that there is quite a bit of support for this suggestion.

supposedly. this has been suggested before and turned down but in light of recent events it may become necessary.

Even if it is just a subforum, I still feel like this would be a great thing to have.

It should be a Gallery sub-forum.

Bump. Could I get a yes or no from a moderator?

I think the gallery works just fine for this.

My thought is that the Gallery will be too intermixed for people to properly find the different techniques. Sure, someone could just make a stickied topic linking all the techniques, but that'd have to be constantly updated. It'd be much easier to have a subsection inside the Gallery with all the techniques in one place.

This.
And, if possible, there should be a voting system.
Like "did you find this thread helpful? Y/N"
That way people could filter away the rubbish.
Either that or heavy moderation.

This would actually be very fun to have.  I could see myself browsing it extensively just to increase my knowledge of different design approaches. I support this
