I enjoyed the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Can you tell me what was bad about those movies.
I liked Phantom Menace, but Jar Jar was handicapped and kid Anakin was annoying and had stuffty lines. Droid-occupied Naboo was a neat setting (made me think of occupied France), and the battle with the gungans was awesome when Jar-Jar wasn't doing stupid stuff and not getting dead for it.
Attack of the Clones had the droids losing their cold, emotionless speech pattern that the Episode I droids had (with the exception of that stuttering commander droid in the hangar, which was also dumb as hell) and set the precedent for the "lol roger roger xD" stuff. Anakin went from naive child to angsty dumbass teen, and the Jedi don't even stop and think for a moment about the ethical qualms of breeding sentient life for the sole purpose of dying.
On the subject of clones, there's the thing with the Fetts. All the clones are made from Jango Fett's DNA, and Jango also has this unaltered clone as a "son" named Boba. By the end of the movie, Jango dies and Boba takes up his profession. Now, I ask this: Why didn't the writers just make Boba the template?
But on the bright side, AotC brought us Republic Commando.
