Author Topic: A Terrain Build. [Image heavy]  (Read 5276 times)

Since I build terrains and can upload pictures, I might as well log my progress.

Anyways.
My latest creation, Still a work in progress. Details particles will come soon.

Hi. My name is Caddofolinkamil Perrywrinkledragonsmithson, buy can call me Bill the Explorer.
I am investigating these odd lands.

I found the courage to go in the Kraggy Kave. There's a bunch of pillars and an altar of some sort...

I exited the Kraggy Kave, and the world seems so much more detailed.
Woah.

Hm, this smooth ground feels nice...

Everything's so much smoother now!

Some of the corner hill/mountain.

The foothills of the Kragg.

The inside of the Kraggy Krevice. It has an anti-light, stalactites, piles of rubble, and a zone brick rigged with light rain for hat "drippy cave" effect.

The outside of the Kragg.

The whole bloody thing.

Nothing like reading a good book or two or six.

I've finished setting up camp. I have my record logs, my telescope, and all the comforts of a survival situation. I like it here, I might not leave.

The symbol means batman of course

Kragg looks ugly, try and use more linear brick placement instead of going HURPADURP with everything.

Make the canyon look better (i.e not just a flat wall on both sides)

Also use more than one color for everything. And the lake mud looks eh.

I know its a terrain build, but it just looks like it needs more randomness in the hills. Other than that can't wait for buildings and stuff.

I'm not sure if I ever will add buildings.

Other than that, thanks for the feedback. If you gave it.
I'm talking to you, heed.

Your the sortof person we need in v21

I couldn't agree more. This is the kind of awesome stuff that's gonna make blockland even better!

I agree to a point, some extra scenery would be nice. Maybe add some more rubble to the cave, in addition to stalactite/stalagmites and crystal formations, that would be totally awesome. For the outside, maybe add some extra grass and some flowers! Trees too, oh yes!

Thanks, you two. I'll go hack away at it some more.

To do:
  • Fix the Kragg as to not be so herpaderp anymore.
  • Remove the lake mud, it's a dead end
  • Find some more color for the transition between the Kragg and the overworld.
  • (Hopefully) Find a way to make te border look better.
  • Improve mini-canyon. A lot.

Just a note, people, I do terrains in boundaries like the one up there. If I'm not too lazy, I might remove them. Maybe.

And this is why all the v21 whiners should shut up:  This looks pretty darn good, and I want to see more like it.

Wow, I really like this! :D

Neat.

The visible cube walls don't look very nice most of the time though, keep that in mind.

I like how there's a lot of flat area for building, but it seems a bit empty in that area.

also, consider making the creek not cut straight through the hill, that generally doesn't look good unless you make some sort of tunnel or bridge or something over it.

whenever you get around to foliage, be sure to have some flowers and tall grass patches and whatnot. I rarely see builds that take into account all the different sorts of plants you could find in the middle of nature.

Sorry if I seem a bit picky, I'm more picky with terrain builds because I have a terrain build special interest.  :cookieMonster:

Updated the OP.

New colorset achieved!
Thomas leveled up!
Lighting improved by +1!

Edit: I wonder how much bigger this part of the forum will be when V21 come out.
