Author Topic: A BRILLIANT IDEA - Brick Movements  (Read 1627 times)

You know how at server like heedicalking's Slopes TDM, there is a crane (or something similar) at the warehouse?  Well I was blankly staring at it for some reason, it looked like it was swinging!  So I got this brilliant idea, What if bricks could sway and swing back and forth? What if bricks could be evented to swing when a play touches them? What if we could have a whole pack of these brick movements and be able to make bricks do things like swing, sway, spin, flip, and even fly around in a show?

I know what you are thinking, this will take alot of coding, but I think it can be done, and it would be nice to see it in v21 or v22!

The only way that this could possibly be achieved is through the use of DTS files/Bots/physics vehicles, or some sort of modification to the undulo effect(effect, the brick collision box stays the same).
Besides, brick physics is client-sided, meaning it's different for everyone.

The only way I see of going about this is vehicles and bots.
It won't be pretty if it ever does get made.

Well, I see your point, but it would still be cool, right?

Indeed it would be quite cool.

Though if it were implemented without any lag whatsoever, it would have to be through an engine change or modification.
CryEngine 3 anyone?

Well, again, I see your point, but I wonder if Badspot could actually make this?

Highly improbable, not impossible.

Good thing that it's not impossible.
Badspot, if you see this, please tell me what you think :D!

Dude, this is so highl-
I'll let you figure this out on your own.

Ohhhhhhh..... it's highly improbable, I see.
Still...

Yes, this would be cool, and I always did want some non-rickety-as-forget elevators.
Heedicalking. *Prod, prod* *Nudge*
However, it would be as likely as me becoming a loli overnight, at least, with this engine. That is to say, almost impossible.

I agree with you xxxx, and I see that it is nearly impossible.

Since the removal of interiors and terrains someone said this will make brick physics and other stuff more possible?

Yeah, but for fake-killed stuff, not for gigantic grandfather clocks.
Admittedly, that would be pretty bad-ass.
Hell, we could even have a large swinging structure connecting two sides for a TDM or CTF, and you need to jump on it to cross, otherwise you die. Really, the possibilities are endless, and I would love to see this implemented, but as of now, I don't how it can.

Holy stuff, I didn't know that.
