Author Topic: Update Water Texture  (Read 11151 times)

If kompressor is removing this type of water like Terrain and Interiors then please tell me so I can lock the thread

Currently the water texture looks like this,

In Blockland it looks like this,

Honestly, it doesn't look bad at all but I would just like a different texture or higher quality texture for a change. I have already tried replacing the file with another one and every time I open a map it gets overwritten with the default one. (It used to work before, but now I cant re-texture it). I also think this should be done since kompressor is updating the lighting with new shadows and shaders.

I already know some people wont find the water that bad but I just find it a bit blurry and low res, but since kompressor is updating the lighting

You mean to something like this?:

Yeah but it has to be from birds eye view or on the top

I understand, I just could not find a good one from the top, I will search in a sec.

to have better water we would need to not have a texture but a water effect with physics
the texture is at its best unless we get a very high res one,

With the next update something like this would be pointless because you can only use brick water.

i agree its about time if he is making the graghics better then its god dam about time that he(badspot) put some better textures in

Found this on Google Images, i totally think this should be used as it looks far better than the current texture :cookieMonster:

Not even good engines can have a decent water texture how can you expect this torque engine to have one?

Seriously? I find that really stupid, they at least keep the water so that its easier to make flood areas or maps like Slate Sea.

OGRE 3D is an engine, its pretty good and free as you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujnkAQ52t0Y

Texture quality is sort of like uploading a high quality print.

I think that the water is fine as it is, but I guess that's just me.
