This is more of an engine change suggestion, but If the Ghost brick when building wasn't fully server sided as it is now, building on other servers would be much smoother. - as you wouldn't have the ghost brick jerk around on lag spikes.

i think it only does that when you're lagging, not lag in the server connection

No, it's purely network lag that causes it, because all of the shiftbricks and whatnot are sent to the server which then sends back the changes.

well yes, but when i lose connection to the server for around 5 seconds i can still build, just not move or see what's being built
provided i regain connection...

i think melting is talking about when the brick goes 2 spaces or so instead of 1

The ghost brick is server side so you know where someone is building.

However it's annoying how I can never tell who has that ghost brick.

Yes, even when your not "Lagging" there is delay when moving the ghost brick.  If the Game assumed your brick plant was accurate, and then double checked later - Building would be so much smoother.

When talking about how long it takes for a brick to actual end up planted, your right.

But i'm describing the unnecessary networking to actual get the ghost brick to the spot you want.

slightly offtopic: remember that "ghost busters" addon that would clear temp bricks if they were inactive for a certain amount of time?

yea I always get messed up when I am trying to count 16 shifts over, but the click from the brick shifting comes really late.

I really hate when someone places a 64x64 cube ghost brick and leaves it there.
