Author Topic: Anonymous is going to try to "black out" the internet on March 31st  (Read 4877 times)

i dont get why they are getting mad about google changing its privacy policies. its a private company that you dont have to go to.
censorship isnt an issue here. if google wants our SSN so to track our credit, thus our lifestyles and shopping habits, they can. no one is forcing us to use their services.

advertising boycotts would seem much more helpful. simply attacking them is stupid.
this isnt like how playstation network changed their product you thought you payed for.
this is a free service you can opt out of. if it had changed, so what.

lol anynymous elete hakers

nobudy fuks with them NOPE!

they gona shut down the internets with cheatengine

!!
yeh dey ar 133t hax1rs!
they are gone paitn researchografic pictirse in ms painft adn send them 2 yur pc

This is what I thought it was. Not shutting down the internet or something. More like a boycott for march.

you can't
you can't shut down the internet
things are hosted all over the place on a lot of different servers
there are like ten on that list? what

If they get enough people to do this it could possibly work.

Of course packet forging is a common exploit, so the DNS servers might already have measures in place to prevent this.

I don't see this on AnonOps

So just like they were gonna take down facebook?

something to do with taking down the main DNS servers, like those hosting websites or something so people can't reach the domains
idno

those are major DNS servers. they resolve google.com to whatever server ip they want.

*march 31*
oh look not a thing happened IM SO SURPRISED THEY SHOULD HAVE--lolno

Even though I highly doubt anything will happen, a backup plan should be implemented - getting the IPs of your favorite websites down so that, should Anonymous actually go through with this, we won't really be too affected.

anonymous is a bunch of friends, anyone who calls themselves anon is a huge friend.
I loving hate all of you that loving support them at all.

Explained:

Root DNS servers are the highest of authorities. Servers like Google's DNS hold DNS records (retrieved from the root servers) for however long the specify, usually longer than the average ISP's. Root servers are able to answer requests from the average user, but seldom receive requests as most networks and computers are set up to use other DNS servers. This plan won't actually work, since it's announced and counter-measures can be implemented before it happens.
