"... programs like Illustrator."
I know you understood what I meant but I never said you should go buy Illustrator if you want to make vectors. I read the first page of responses and felt like someone needed to say something so someone wouldn't blow a ridiculous amount of money on Fireworks and find that they're not working in a true vector drawing program.
Adobe needs a student software program like Autodesk's.
manty speaks the truth
fireworks was mainly developed as an assistant program to dreamweaver, which is an html coding platform.
illustrator is what the pros use for vector drawing. the pros being the people who design logos like nike, mcdonalds, ABC News, NBC Pearooster logo, etc etc.
if you really want these programs (Adobe Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks) for rather cheap, make sure you're in a computer illustrating class and wait until cyber monday, then buy the student package for $500 (normally costs $1800). it basically is all the programs that cost like $400-500 each but cheaper since you are student
also i heard keygen works too, but i wouldn't suggest you to do that.
