Author Topic: My weird sleeping habit.  (Read 945 times)

Title says it all. I have a very strange sleeping habit. It is not inappropriate, so don't even post "Omgeh I thaght it wult b inaperpiet!"
The sleeping habit is this: I cannot sleep if my body heat warms the cushion under me. When I sleep, every time my body heats up the mattress, I have to re-position myself... If I get lucky, I will be sleepy enough to fall asleep. If my arms get hot, then I put them underneath my pillow.

I prefer my pillow to be cold when I sleep, unless I'm cold to begin with.

I was like that as a kid, it's just something that you grow out of.
Alternatively; get a thinner Duvet/put hot water bottles filled with cold water under your mattress cover

I like being cold at all times

Takes me 5 hours to fall asleep, getting comfy is also annoying.

Can't go to sleep without putting my arm under the pillow.

I've reached a stage in my life where I don't go to sleep until I can't stay up any longer, when I say "I'm going to bed" I mean "I'm going to pass out in five minutes unless I get some sleep right now", I can pretty much sleep anywhere

I can't sleep unless my thirst for blood has been quenched.

I can normally get comfortable in bed reasonably easily.
If I'm watching something in bed and then decide to fall asleep though I have to flip my duvet over aswell as my pillows to get the cold side then I go to sleep.
I might do that a couple times more if I'm having difficulty getting to sleep and want to get comfortable again.

My biggest problem for sleeping is having lights on.
Unless I am completely shattered I can't sleep with them on.
Tv's distract me with just the light, not even the noise.
I can't sleep if my door is open and the landing light is on and the lights from my electronics in my room are so annoying.

Have to make sure I turn speakers and monitor off for my PC beacuse the light keeps me up.
My 3DS's blue light is really bright in a dark room, I have to cover it with something.
And the light of my Alarm Clock is really annoying.
It has 3 different settings for it's light. The lowest one is really rather dark if it's in the daytime, then you can hardly read off of the thing. But at night, that bugger at lowest setting feels like sleeping next to a street-lamp.
The highest setting at night is blinding and distracting whether you face towards it or not.

Takes me 4 hours to fall asleep, getting comfy is a different story altogether.
I can't sleep with a bright light going. At all.
Such as the one I use to read. It's one of those tall lamps that sits in the back corner of your room.

My room has to be completely pitch black, or as dark as I can make it, otherwise I can't get to sleep easily.
Outside light, hallway light, alarm clock light, neighbor's loving garage flood light....., etc etc. All distract me all the time.

I can't sleep in the dark, it took me twelve years to wean myself off the big light in my room and onto a small bedside lamp

Takes me 5 hours to fall asleep, getting comfy is also annoying.

I do the exact same thing.
