What happened to good knife tdms?

I really don't know what happened. Now the only knife tdm I go to has grapple. Does anyone else remember the time it was just you and your knife?  It was better, now it's simply who can run away and sneak up on who.

Do any of you remember my really incredibly small knife tdm? It was so small the round was short but sweet and everyone was constantly in the game, and yet there was still a winner. Now it's just pro longed with everyone grappling.

Some of you probably generally hate knife tdms but if you did like them, which are better? Grapple or non-grapple.

but it's not even tactics
its literally always like this:

last few people standing
guy1 runs at guy2
one of them grapples away
repeat sometimes swapping roles until one of them dies

I use to host a "Control The Center" game which didn't have any grapple ropes and you had to just hold the center checkpoint. It was fun :D!
