>MMO
>That isnt repetitive
Ha.
What are you talking about?
Maplestory, for example, is less repetitive because it has great updates with a lot of new content and events.
Maplestory has a lot of different locations and monsters and skills, you can make up to 3 characters and there's over 30 jobs if I'm correct. All of this is also free and the game doesn't make you feel limited to a certain amount of things just because you didn't pay for extra content. Even though this extra content would be nice to have, it's not extremely
necessary.Spiral Knights is extremely repetitive.
All the updates contain nowadays is expansion packs that you have to
pay for, and new equipment that doesn't do anything at all except for making you look better. The only useful updates that I have seen in quite a while is the Shadow Lair update and the Ranking Mission update. Now the game itself is pretty buggy and laggy. I don't know if this is just my computer.
Tier 1 is cake walk, even with the worst equipment.
Then you suddenly jump to ultra loving mega hard mode Tier 2, where everything is ten times as strong as in Tier 1. Now you might think "yeah, but a game without decent difficulty isn't fun."
You're right. It isn't. But they could've at least made a less big jump in difficulty. When you first enter Tier 2, you have no idea how extremely hard it is.
And then, even though Tier 2 is different in difficulty, it's still the same as Tier 1. Same environment, same EVERYTHING. The enemies are just the same old enemies even though they've got maybe one new gear sticking to them or they have grown, and they have been buffed. Those bat things now emit three balls instead of one! Wow, what a change!
The enemies become overpowered in Tier 2 and with my terrible bugging and lagging, this is the ultimate nightmare.
You need to have litterally the best party of 5 star people to make it through a full tier 2 trip.
Apart from 2 levels called Concrete Jungle and Dark City and the boss levels, everything in Tier 2 is the same as it was in Tier 1. This is the same with Tier 3, except for the Firestorm Citadel level.
This game has no change at all. At first when I could advance to Tier 2 I thought: "Oh boy, new levels! This is going to be so much fun!"
Reality: THE SAME DAMN LEVELS ALL OVER AGAIN, BUT THEN WITH OVERPOWERED ENEMIES! HOW FUN.
Now let me talk about the crafting system.
I like the idea of buying recipes from a guy you meet deep inside the Clockworks. I really like it.
This would be even better if the crafting fees weren't so damn high.
I litterally spent 2 weeks to get 400 energy so I could craft ONE 4 star piece of armor.
Even though the defense rate looks high when you first see it, it's stuff. In areas where you actually need some defense, this maybe makes you lose maybe one hit point less. That's seriously it.
This game is so extremely frustrating once you advance to Tier 2, it makes you want to punch a cute baby to
DEATH.This game is only playable if you pay for it. Now some of you might think "Well, you have to pay to play good games."
This might be true. With the exception of Maplestory and perhaps a lot of other games out there that I have not discovered yet, maybe you DO have to pay to play a good game.
But at least they could NOT make it free to play so all it will do is eventually turn out as a giant middle finger to the face.
Summarized Version:
This is what I think of Spiral Knights.
Extremely glitchy, repetitive gameplay, and will not turn out to be an "enjoyable" game until you spend at least 30 dollars on buying energy and that stupid expansion pack.
For short, Spiral Knights, in my opinion, is
terrible. If they actually do fix all of this, I will start playing this game again.
