Author Topic: Spiral Knights - I got it :D (YES I'M LATE)  (Read 14545 times)

I quit, but I remember my exact equipment.

Weapons: Argent Peacemaker and Divine Avenger
Armor: Divine Veil and Divine Mantle
Shield: Rock Jelly Shield

I had recipes for other stuff too but I never got to making it.
Also had four stranger hats.

this game is so fun but so repetitive aofkwigegoishrh
so sad so sad qq i remember around this time last year this game was the stuff now nobody i used to play with does anymore

this game is buggy as stuff and they keep not fixing it.
that's why i stopped playing it.

if someone can tell me whenever they fix the lag, the terrible hitdetection and make the game less repetitive, i'll gladly download every update since i stopped playing in january

It's improved a lot since January.

>MMO
>That isnt repetitive

Ha.

it's fun only with friends, and only at levels where you don't need to spend cash. IMO this "game fuel" type monetizing is horrible. it would be much more effective to simply charge for the game up front. i haven't spent any money on that game, nor will i ever because i no longer play it. i no longer play carnivores for the pc, but i still spent the initial cost of the game.

>MMO
>That isnt repetitive

Ha.

What are you talking about?

Maplestory, for example, is less repetitive because it has great updates with a lot of new content and events.
Maplestory has a lot of different locations and monsters and skills, you can make up to 3 characters and there's over 30 jobs if I'm correct. All of this is also free and the game doesn't make you feel limited to a certain amount of things just because you didn't pay for extra content. Even though this extra content would be nice to have, it's not extremely necessary.

Spiral Knights is extremely repetitive.
All the updates contain nowadays is expansion packs that you have to pay for, and new equipment that doesn't do anything at all except for making you look better. The only useful updates that I have seen in quite a while is the Shadow Lair update and the Ranking Mission update. Now the game itself is pretty buggy and laggy. I don't know if this is just my computer.

Tier 1 is cake walk, even with the worst equipment.
Then you suddenly jump to ultra loving mega hard mode Tier 2, where everything is ten times as strong as in Tier 1. Now you might think "yeah, but a game without decent difficulty isn't fun."
You're right. It isn't. But they could've at least made a less big jump in difficulty. When you first enter Tier 2, you have no idea how extremely hard it is.

And then, even though Tier 2 is different in difficulty, it's still the same as Tier 1. Same environment, same EVERYTHING. The enemies are just the same old enemies even though they've got maybe one new gear sticking to them or they have grown, and they have been buffed. Those bat things now emit three balls instead of one! Wow, what a change!

The enemies become overpowered in Tier 2 and with my terrible bugging and lagging, this is the ultimate nightmare.
You need to have litterally the best party of 5 star people to make it through a full tier 2 trip.

Apart from 2 levels called Concrete Jungle and Dark City and the boss levels, everything in Tier 2 is the same as it was in Tier 1. This is the same with Tier 3, except for the Firestorm Citadel level.
This game has no change at all. At first when I could advance to Tier 2 I thought: "Oh boy, new levels! This is going to be so much fun!"

Reality: THE SAME DAMN LEVELS ALL OVER AGAIN, BUT THEN WITH OVERPOWERED ENEMIES! HOW FUN.

Now let me talk about the crafting system.
I like the idea of buying recipes from a guy you meet deep inside the Clockworks. I really like it.

This would be even better if the crafting fees weren't so damn high.
I litterally spent 2 weeks to get 400 energy so I could craft ONE 4 star piece of armor.
Even though the defense rate looks high when you first see it, it's stuff. In areas where you actually need some defense, this maybe makes you lose maybe one hit point less. That's seriously it.

This game is so extremely frustrating once you advance to Tier 2, it makes you want to punch a cute baby to DEATH.

This game is only playable if you pay for it. Now some of you might think "Well, you have to pay to play good games."

This might be true. With the exception of Maplestory and perhaps a lot of other games out there that I have not discovered yet, maybe you DO have to pay to play a good game.

But at least they could NOT make it free to play so all it will do is eventually turn out as a giant middle finger to the face.

Summarized Version:

This is what I think of Spiral Knights.

Extremely glitchy, repetitive gameplay, and will not turn out to be an "enjoyable" game until you spend at least 30 dollars on buying energy and that stupid expansion pack.

For short, Spiral Knights, in my opinion, is terrible.
If they actually do fix all of this, I will start playing this game again.

It was fun when I first played it and still is.

You don't have to travel down the arcade to get most recipes, if you do the missions you'll be able to get access to a recipe cache for everything that isn't a boss recipe.

The high energy costs were changed from extremely high recipe buying costs. It's not a bad thing that you're taking a long time to buy energy, it takes time.

Paying for this game is not needed to get "good stuff" because most of the pay for content is just accessories. The only thing you could really buy for a good worth is the DLC missions. Everything else is completely free, even if it may seem really long.

It must be your own computer if you're encountering these bugs, but I'm not sticking to that. Join with other people if you have trouble taking on the levels solo. The enemies all have a particular strategy used to kill them, but I do agree that greavers and devilites are particularly annoying.

Just because this game isnt like maplestory doesnt mean it sucks.

I get bored of Maplestory so fast. I play it and then im like well this sucks im just going to get offline. Sure, you can play it without paying, but its so god-awfully boring. The only time it isnt boring is if you are playing with friends, and its hard to keep friends because the people playing cycle through, people get to like level 30-50 and then get bored and leave. Cant keep the same friends.

Also if you dont want to play anymore can i haz ur stuff

I can solo any T2 gate so easily, with only 2* gear.

i take back my rude comments from earlier with a valid point
they're doing financially well so yeah!

"It gets fun after 3rd job" is something I've heard. To be honest, you just get a few flashy skills that makes it a little more fun/faster for grinding. By the time you reach level 120 you'll just be going to LHC daily to get some exp until level 200.

1. How is Spiral Knights not repetitive, then? Maplestory is less repetitive because you can explore more areas, actually see new content instead of just seeing the same levels over and over again.

2. I do agree that Maplestory gets kinda boring after level 50.
Leveling up takes ages to do and it's kinda boring. But you also have to agree Spiral Knights might be full of action and such, but it's so extremely frustrating. If I have to be honest, after Tier 2, I didn't have fun. My only goal was to reach Tier 3 and kill Lord Vanaduke at some point. That was honestly my only goal. I did not have fun at all. I only was covered in frustration.

3. No, because if I actually were to get interested in this game again sometime, I'd still need all that stuff.
