Would it be possible for anyone to make a flak cannon for this game?
Here's how it should work:

-It spawns like an item, but very small until you pick it up.
-You walk to a certain place and deploy it, and when this happens, you cannot walk until it is put away again.
-The cannon fires flak shells
-The flak explodes in the air, and does radius damage to the planes within the radius of the explosion. The radius should be quite large.

It should look something like this:

Bah... No way.

it be awsome for forts

True...But make it so its like more of a automatic turret. So you can walk away. Still a good idea though. havva :cookieMonster:

You deploy it and it makes a bot that uses it.  :cookieMonster:

Ooooohhh, Yeah. Make it do that!

Instead of deploying it, maybe make a pad similar to the vehicle spawn that spawns it in the spot you built the pad. Deploying it anywhere may have collision problems.

This would be entirely possible, but it would be easier if it was a stationnary vehicle that spawns on a Vehicle Spawn point.

The only thing we'd need is to script it to rotate (requires animation voodoo) and fire the specific shells, and then add the 'Explode after lifetime runs out' command in the muzzle part of the script. I'm just not sure exactly how to do any of this though.

Well, I did some thinking, and it could either be what I suggested at first, or this:

I found out that there are some games that have hand held flak-cannons. This could be an easier alternative, but the projectiles will need to behave the way I suggested.

I'll post an example picture as soon as I find one.

Will it be a Single shell flak or multiple shell flak? (single puff of smoke or lots of puffs of smoke per shot basically)

Ace

Multi-shell I think.

The purpose of this gun is to serve as an effective weapon for dogfights with the stunt planes.
When in a plane, shooting at another plane, the mini gun or rocket or whatever just doesn't cut it. It's always too slow, and has little or no area damage.

So...Anyone up to the challenge?

The "looking up" and "looking down" for the player both come as animations for the body. I'm suspecting it would be possible to have a similar system for the turret.

I have a way to use [vehicle]::onTrigger to fire a weapon when you push Space, maybe it could be adapted.

I think an anti-air gun would be very useful. The one I have seen in Spation's server, like the rocket, is sometimes too slow to use on stuntplanes. The idea I did like about it was the fact that it instantly destroyed any vehicle no matter what.

I've begun making the script for it if anyone is still interested, couldn't find a way of making the shells detonate mid air though.

Right now I'm working on the particle effects.

Cool! For the exploding in mid-air thing, use something similar to the fireworks guns.

Now if we could get a decent model.

Oh man, thanks alot you just made my life a whole lot easier  :cookieMonster:

Also, I wish I could help out with the model but Milkshape died on me and I can't get it working again, I'll get the basic script working in a giffy and I'll post it.
