Vehicle Request: LAAT

The Low Altitude Air Transport is a nice flying vehicle used for transport and air support. Commonly known under the name of Republic Gunship. In Blockland, no current vehicle represents this sort of vehicle. I have ideas of how it could be done, but as I can neither script or model, I must request it.






This is the infantry variant of the LAAT. It can hold up to 20 people but for Blockland I suppose it should be 4 at least. There are 2 pilots. Pilot (first seat) would be the one who flies and shoots the Anti-Personel [blue colored laser] turrets on the front. The co-pilot (behind pilot) would fire the missiles on the top of the gunship and close the blast doors. The 4 or more passengers would be able to shoot out of the gunship when the blast doors are open. There are 2 gunners up on the wings with long fire [green colored laser] turrets. These would be able to shoot in every direction, having to recharge laser for a short interval. The way the long lasting laser could be done is by making a extremely fast (low powered) projectile that has a short lasting green laser thing emitter. For the flying mechanics, I suggest to use the Helicopter's one. Space to go up, Shift to go down. This ship does use hovering...






This is the vehicle transport variant of the LAAT. It can transport vehicles from and to battle. It only has 1 pilot, no co-pilot. I thought it could be a remodel of Heed's skycrane helicopter and using the new helicopter physics. It does have 2 turrets on the front for the pilot to fire too.






This is the other wise called Imperial LAAT. It is a LAAT/i with 2 spheres on the sides which shoot the same as the spheres on the wings.

Nevertheless, it would be pretty cool to get the LAAT/c, especially so you can carry vehicles off ships for example or to inaccessible areas.

Nicely made request topic, i must say.
I was about to advise the MAS Transport Ship but it is far from what you want. ;P
Though it might be closer then any other helicopter and has a more spacey feeling to it.

The helicopter script is called HeightControl, just FYI. ;)

I would like to see something (more) like the LAAT (any variant), so i approve.

Yeah, I tried the MAS Transport Ship, its not at all what I want and I know that the helicopter script is HeightControl, I though I mentioned it :P

Thanks for support on this request, we really need a well made Star Wars vehicle and the most useful one would be this one.

I remember looking at a topic Barakuda posted, something about his first models, or maybe it was add-ons.
Anyway, the first picture was a 'gunship'.
Surprisingly it was actually modeled off of the LAAT. ( I'm just guessing. It looked a lot like it.)
It never shot any projectiles, but it could fly. I don't know what ever happened to it.

I saw that, but as you said, it can't shoot, it isn't a great model like the ones I know can be made nowadays and I don't think it uses the HeightControl flight physics... But overall its not such a good model as I said.
