Uh, no. People get banned for violating the "IDC" rule all the time in off-topic, lol. Bones legitimately broke a rule and he legitimately got banned for something Ephialtes was legitimately ignorant about.

the basis for his assumption wasn't wrong. albeit, he acted like it was common knowledge, somebody like me who hasn't been on these forums in years could easily be a little confused about the rules. i agree, it's known that posting stuff like that will get you banned, but the technicalities of the rules on these forums are far from user friendly.
