anyway it sounds like origin just gets all the day 1 DLC for free and you can still get it on a real platform i.e. steam
Lol no. They pulled almost all their new products sometime during the summer off Steam, like Crysis 2 and some others. Now they can only be found on Origin. Makes me glad I bought Crysis 2 on Steam while it was there, I can still play it.
Just some of my opinions~
• Constructible Worlds —Creative and customizable world that offers unique gameplay benefits, all with a fun tactile interface.
I don't know what they mean unless you can edit the geography of entire regions at once without loading each region save individually. Sounds neat though!
• Sims Matter—The Sims in your city speak to you directly and it’s up to you to respond to their needs. Will you listen and be the toast of the town? Or abuse your power for fame and fortune?
...Isn't this the whole point of the news tickers and advisers? Whenever you had a problem, you'd see it in the newspapers/news tickers, or your advisers would prompt you about it.
• Specialize in What You Love—Mold your city as a casino resort, manufacturing hub, educational enclave, and more, and then watch as a unique look and feel spread throughout your city.
Oh great, its the "whole city changes" approach again. I didn't like this in Societies (actually I don't think I liked that game at all), because really a city doesn't change much as a whole unless there's a lot of redevelopment going on at one single time.
• Multiplayer— Build a region with friends for the first time! Collaborate or compete in regional and global challenges and make decisions that impact the greater SimCity World.
OH MY GOD YES.
• GlassBox Engine— SimCity introduces GlassBox, the revolutionary simulation technology that gives you the power to impact individual Sims lives, manage city level simulation, and balance multiple city simulations at once.
...balance multiple city simulations at once? Sounds hectic but also dangerously fun!
Pre-order SimCity and get the Bonus Heroes and Villains set!
LIMITED EDITION BONUS CONTENT...
Oh great. Expected this already from Origin-EA.
• New Characters— Protector of SimCity MaxisMan vs. The Evil Dr. Vu and his henchman.
I could be really wrong about this, but I honestly still have no loving clue who this Dr Vu starfish on account of him just popping up in SC4. I remember MaxisMan from
Simcity 2000 as an easter egg but to me Dr Vu is just some vague starfish who wants you to constantly abuse firetrucks and police helicopters to troll your citizens.
• Crime Waves—The Evil Dr. Vu is loose and will create havoc in your city. Normal police have their hands full against this Super Villain. The Evil Dr. Vu will solicit Sims to become his henchmen and carry out his dastardly deeds.
This sounds a bit interesting, though.
• Super Hero HQ – Place MaxisMan’s headquarters in your city to combat crime and keep your Sims safe. Upgrade with the Turbo Machine garage and The Reticulator landing pad.
• Evil Villain Lair – Place Dr. Vu’s Lair in your city to unleash a crime wave. As The Evil Dr. Vu commits more crimes, upgrade his lair with a special laboratory and a garage for the Evil VuMobile.
...k
• Mystery Item – Everybody likes a good surprise. Enhance your city with this bonus item!
Aaaand what the forget is this.
Overall I'm both excited and afraid for this. Afraid on account of this stuffty day 1 DLC which serves as a complete distraction just like the poorly designed "U-Drive Its" in SC4.
"Images do not depict actual gameplay"
Oh.
It really isn't bad but honestly I'd rather have Steam just because it's something that I actually use often. Using Origin requires me to load up Origin through Steam just so I can use the Steam overlay and not Origin's, which is useless because I have only 4 friends on it for BF3.
