SSX 2012 is a snowboarding game. but that's not just it. It also uses real places, not fictional places from other snowboarding games. You play as a team that wants to snowboard on mountains and stuffs. Sounds terrible right? Who cares that's not what the game's really about. The gameplay includes helicopter drops, avalanches, and the use of wingsuits. Now that's awesome.
Quoted:
"The mapping and level design for SSX is different from previous entries in the franchise, featuring more open world gameplay and fewer barriers or invisible walls. EA Canada used geotagging data borrowed from NASA to generate 28 mountains from about nine existing mountain ranges around the world. This data was only used as the basis for the level design, and the developers created their own terrain on top of it. Players will be able to use helicopters to travel to various locations on the individual mountains. The game features mountains from the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, Patagonia, Antarctica, the Alps, Africa, the Himalayas, Siberia, and New Zealand."
They used data from loving NASA. That shows how advanced the mountains in this game are. Also Mt. Fuji will be available to PS3 users. There's also online multiplayer and a decent soundtrack for when you're racing down gigantic mountains. A lot of game reviewers also gave the game good scores.
