Ive been thinking about this for awhile and just wanted everybodys thoughts and opinions on the subject.

I was at walmart the other day when I saw a mother beating her child for crying in the store. I didnt blame her, he probably deserved what he got. But after I saw this, and went home and watched some animal planet. I watched one episode of Animal Cops where a man beat his dog for biting him, and he went to jail.

It finally got me to wonder... Why is it okay to hit children, but not animals? Now im by no means saying that it is okay to beat an animal, but Im just having trouble seeing why an animal would have more rights than a human.

Or, lets take it a step further. You cant beat adults, or you go to jail. Its called assault. It doesnt matter how long you've known somebody, or if you've been married for 50+ years.

I dunno anymore. My brain hurts.

EDIT: I am by no means saying you shouldnt hit your kid. I completely understand why you would. I am just saying that they are the only things you can hit without repercussion.

Not just where I live, its a global thing. Ive been to places where a kid is crying, and people would tell the parent to just give him a spanking to shut him up.

Its not only okay, its promoted if the kid is an starfish.

I wasnt. It was as I was leaving WalMart and she was beating her kid. Everybody just ignored it.
