Author Topic: Dell XPS M1530 lagging, bluescreening  (Read 682 times)

Recently (This monday), My laptop has been having odd lags for no reason where everything locks up and freezes. It takes about 30 seconds to a minute, and then everything goes back to normal. Then, sometimes, everything will freeze up and then it bluescreens. This only started recently and is pretty loving annoying when I'm finishing an ELA project when suddenly my computer stuffs out and shuts down. Any help?

I had a vaguely similar issue last weekend.

I just used Windows Recovery.
In order to get to it, though, I had to use Safe Mode so it wouldn't freeze/crash.

When you say recovery, do you mean re-install OS?

No. I mean recovering from a recovery point automatically set by windows every update.
And sometimes during installs of programs.

I thought about doing that, but I think it might be a hardware error, not software. I'll try it anyways.

I think it's somewhere in the properties of Local Disk (C:)

I can't find it on vista. Can you give me the directory?

I ment... The actual recovery...?
Oh, yes, of course.
Go to Computer.
Then Right-Click on C:
Click on Previous Versions.
BING BOOPITY BANG POW.

happened to my laptop before

updating the display drivers fixed it.

My computer was doing the same exact things that you're describing a little while ago. I took it to a PC repair shop and as it turned out my hard drive was badly damaged. I highly suggest you get that checked out.
