I'm not sure if I've posted this wallpaper already, but here it is.

what is so bad about Unity?  I find nothing wrong with it.
it's been proven to decrease performance
amazon search results in the dash for everything, you can only opt-out after you install (ubuntu >= 12.10)
most seem to dislike the global menu
it's hard to navigate through
you can't customize it as much as LXDE, XFCE, GNOME, KDE, etc.
the stupid overlay scroll bars

I guess I'm not in the Linux mentality of IT SUCKS BECAUSE I CANNOT OPTIMIZE, MY CPU DOES MILLIONS OF CALCULATIONS PER SECOND, I CAN'T LET IT WASTE ANY ONE OF THOSE.  "most seem to dislike" means nothing in the Linux community, as most vocal Linux users piss themselves at the sight of anything different and more user friendly.  It's not hard to navigate.  I figured it out in seconds.  I barely notice the scroll bar, it's better than the traditional 16 pixel one where you see the controls all the time.  Also:

Yeah, I configure my software BEFORE I INSTALL MY OS.  I'm also typing this on my keyboard I'm receiving tomorrow.

It bogs down my video performance to no end, using GNOME Classic in place of the desktop shell gives me a much greater performance if I feel like playing games over Linux. The dash privacy options barely even work despite me putting every program I don't want to be monitored on the list. It even doesn't like my Intel GMA. Don't get me wrong though; I'm a sane individual who'd prefer Unity over GNOME 3 for various reasons, but GNOME Classic > Unity, IMO.

what. i'm wasting away most of my CPU right now doing nothing so uh

i'm laughing so hard right now.

It's not hard to navigate.  I figured it out in seconds.
i found it rather hard to navigate compared to the other environments.

...did you not read.
>you can only opt-out after you install

even then it's tucked away in the settings somewhere.

If I had to guess, that's because it scales to whatever you're doing.  that or you're using an intel celeron.  I didn't have a single performance issue when I was using Ubuntu with my crap core 2 quad 2.33 ghz.  It was actually running bSNES at 60 fps, while the windows version ran at about half that.

Because you're used the the other environments.

Yes I did read.  Of course you can't change the settings before you install it because how in the hell are you going to configure programs you do not yet have?!

Is that rainmeter? What skin?

i don't page stretch like everyone else so it's cool
and before Marcem goes and calls me a hypocrite, I already stated I like Unity more than GNOME 3, having to choose between the two made me go to Unity.

you could always do what i did, it's unity-ish.

I have a really really stuffty bandwidth cap, how big was the download size, and are you using XFCE?
