Should he have been suspended for that picture?

Yes
No

I think he deserves it by the fact that threats against the school is not acceptable.
Yes, this is why he was suspended. It doesn't matter if he actually has jet fighters or not. He made a threat of violence against the school. In place of a jet fighter he could easily bring a gun or knife in and attack people.

I don't exactly agree with how many trivial things a school will suspend you over, but they were not stepping out of bounds with their given power here.

Is he just suspended or was he also arrested for anything?

Our planet has finally opened it's eyes to the ancient practice of terrorism, and it's scared out of it's mind. I don't blame them for being concerned, but he shouldn't have been suspended.

0/10 should not have been suspended
Poor guy, seems completely unfair.
All of my yes.

ok thats seriously not a real threat

some school kid cant just bring in a plane to blow up the school
Lol
And the girl claimed she was "genuinely scared" by a badly photoshopped image of a plane "attacking" a school.

I drew a picture of that girl being molested by an ape.

Seriously, I have the ape ready too.  She should be legitimately scared.

He shouldn't have been suspended. Can't really call it a threat, and if it really was would it be uploaded?

Also were would someone get a jet plane and missiles? I rest my case.

While I agree that it was a stupid reason to be suspended, he should have at least put something like this in the description of his photo:
"NOTE: This picture has no purpose of being offensive, being a threat, or to scare anyone."

"NOTE: This picture has no purpose of being offensive, being a threat, or to scare anyone."

That wouldn't do stuff.

That wouldn't do stuff.
Probably to the girl who has a mental problem reported it.

Why would you even jokingly make something like that and put it on Facebook? It's his fault.

Poor guy, I feel bad just because he drew a picture of blowing up the school.

handicapped school. Shouldn't have suspended that guy.

  • There is no form of violence in the picture at all. No bombs, no missiles, just arrows. The words office are crossed out and replaced with "Target"
  • There has never been a single terrorist attack where stealth bombers were used (which are depicted, obviously) Doesn't matter, it's still clear what he was depicting.
  • The people who talked to my friends dad about the matter said that a few very scared girls came into the office with it printed out and reported it. My friend says he uploaded it and deleted it 5 minutes later when that inevitable second judgment kicked in (we all know how that goes) so in that time, somebody who clearly doesn't like him, or doesn't have a brain, printed it out and reported it. Or somebody who was genuinely scared because in a post-9/11 America everybody is overly protective.

I'm not saying that it wasn't a joke, but it isn't unreasonable that he was suspended. As another person with a dark sense of humor, I thought this was funny. Making it publicly available is just a bad decision though. With bad decisions are bad consequences. Even if he was joking, it's his fault.

Bump for more opinions.

this is a bomb

this is the school

oh stuff i'm getting suspended

deserves it. it's pretty well known that stuff like this can get you into trouble these days. ignorance isn't a defense
