Living among females and as a female, I have found the true element that makes all girls alike. There is no certain category to put all girls in. Rather, there is a variable that makes them all alike and different. It's attention.
Attention is a crave that affects both males and females. Do you guys remember bragging at an early age about knowing something or being able to do something you couldn't do? That was you wanting attention. At a young age, people want to one up on a peer to show how "cool" you are. Of course, this usually lowers with age for guys. However, it's usually not the case with females.
Females want attention from guys, it's the one true fact from life. If a guy gives focus on a girl, she feels important and gratifies her ego. Guys also provide an ear for the girls to talk about their angst and stuff. Girls work very hard to get their dose of attention in real life. The simplest form can be just talking to someone about something not matter what gender. However the more prominent examples can be from dressing like a slut, flirting with guys, talking or bragging about stuff, starting drama, However, what about the girls who can't go around like that or need more? Their only solution to do this is the internet.
The term attention whore cons from a female (or male if one is really desperate) who constantly craves attention so much, that they will do anything to do that. They don't entirely care what kind of attention they receive (though positive is probably much better). Some examples of this would be making posts entirely focusing on their IRL drama, making up bullstuff, and starting drama all together. Here's an example from me of what an attention whore is from my early forum days
(NOTE: Attention on the internet can be confused though. There is sympathy and there's attention whoring. Sympathy is when you relate to the experience with your own thoughts (Oh, I like ice cream too. My favorite is chocolate). Attention whoring is like somebody writing their memoir in one post (I love ice cream too. Both of my parents liked ice cream BEFORE THEY WERE SHOT BY A MUGGER. Now I've got to work on avenging their deaths through beating up crime in my city. Sometimes I cry whenever I think about it, but I always have ice cream to eat when I do this. BTW my favorite flavor is chocolate) )Middle school, I recall my times. My first boyfriend... My first time someone shared a name like me ( I hated that >.< ) My friends weren't really my friends, all the girls in my class were always prissy and chatty, My only friend moved that following year, and that misfortune. My advice, never go to a "rich" county and go to their snobby school unless you have the guts to be lonely and crushed
As you can guess, the topic is about middle school. But note how I change the topic around to focus on me. That's a pure example of an attention whore.
Girls will love to use their status as female to get what they want, like games or on line stuff. Typically attention whores are at a young age since they don't know better. Only when they start to tone down their expectations for attention, they will start to become less of an attention whore on line or in their posts.
Girls eventually stop going around trying to get attention when they finally get a boyfriend or someone who can devote to their attention. Then, their attention is met usually by them unless relationship problems happen. Thus, the female will go out to be an attention whore again, until she finds a new mate to satisfies her and her attention.
TL;DR In conclusion, humans want attention by nature. It's more prominent for women to want it, varying from degrees of it. The most prominent way of getting attention now is the internet. Eventually women stop getting attention when they finally get a relationship that satisfies her needs and attention.(NOTE: This isn't entirely complete or may be accurate to all girls, but it's the majority of this. Trust me, I'm a doctor female. My full brown townysis isn't complete in this post. I will probably finish this in a more drawn out topic about this another day.)
