Author Topic: Blockland Day Cycle Preview - Shaders and all that  (Read 28293 times)

You're so happy that you're talking in blue!
Sure! Don't you start vomiting the colour blue whenever you're happy? Or any colour for that matter.

I vomit green.

its cool and all that, but the MotE mansion part is horrendous.
It's dusty. I don't see what's wrong with it. (except that it's that dusty in a greenhouse)

they just sped it up, right?

that's not how fast it will go?

and that's one humongous sun holy crap.

does blockland take place on mercury?
If Blockland were placed on Mercury, at some points of the day year the sun would stop and go in the other direction, lol.

Its Jupiter your after. I believe that has the shortest day.

Jupiter has a 9 hour day.

This looks EPIC, but it looks like it would kill my 6 year old processor. :panda:

They can be disabled

Two things you may like to notice

The bricks directly "under" the sunrise at the beginning are brighter, so it looks all properly shiny
The letters of the HOTEL sign do not glow in the dark any more than the white bricks in the rest of the scene

I'd be curious to know if the shadow mapping is going through any filtering for the edges.  there seems to be some jittering on edges of shadows in the first scene.

that may just be due to the very narrow angle the sun is at though, other scenes seem pretty good.

Yes I know what you are talking about, where the diagonal line of the curb looks like a startcase pattern.
I would assume that's more to do with the resolution or size of the shaders, and how they overlap and whatnot.

The server preview has shadows, but this quality is new. Signal of a release being near?

I can only imagine the time it would take to update.

I DO NOT OWN THIS BUILD
