If one could earth bend, wouldn't it mean they can control the individual metallic atoms everywhere? (Most elements are metals.)

Also Metal bending only works if the Metal is impure. Platinum is pure, so it cant be bent. Thats why the Equalists use it for their robo big daddy mechs. Platinum must be super Abundant in the world of avatar

that was an awesome episode.  introduced a new angle to korra/mako/asami love triangle, amon can't be blood bended for some reason, and some point next episode amon has korra in a really bad spot.
