This whole thing shouldn't matter to Christians or athiests.

"quod erat demonstrandum" Should be the new motto.

I think the English version sounds better then the Latin, personally.
I think they're about equal

Of course, I don't mean all christians.
This is true, too.

lol religioncigarettes think this is about hating on religion.
when its about being true to church being separate from state.

its only still on the money for tradition, its already been not relevant to government anymore.
yeah lol, I don't know why everyone's freaking the forget out. "In God we trust" is a very Christian saying and replacing it with with a comment on unity within the country is a good idea to me.

Then again, I wasn't indoctrinated as a child and I don't mindlessly follow every word and whim of religious people so, what would I know?!

"quod erat demonstrandum" Should be the new motto.

???

The older motto sounds better.

Its trivial, but it does matter. I personally wouldn't sign it anyway because its not going to work. It'll just cause more controversy probably.

You're not even American!  :cookieMonster:

separation of church and state. I'll sign this. not to mention e pluribus unum sounds way better
forget that.

It's all about Non Sibi Sed Alis

You're not even American!  :cookieMonster:

But I'm an atheist. If America has a stronger atheist presence, it'll be a good thing for the world.

Perhaps "In Deo credere" would be the best solution.

SMF seems to have problems with a few symbols in URLs, which is also why a lot of Twitter links break
it's a rather easy thing to fix
Didn't notice.

The people who founded the country thought it was a good idea, but I do agree that it is a violation.
Don't think you read the petition page.

Currently, all green backs have the words In God We Trust printed on them. This ubiquitous statement has come to be known as our national motto, circa 1956, when it replaced E Pluribus Unum(Translates to 'Out of many, one'). This change was made during the cold war, when fear and propaganda were at the height of dissemination, and serves only to divide us as a nation.

There are more important things to do. :/
I think a violation of the constitution is supposed to be top priority. Probably says so in some law or something. This is a violation, even if it might seem minor.

Don't think you read the petition page.
Nope. But now I feel stupid. Especially because I've definitely learned that before.

I told my dad this.
His response: "You let them paki's into the country, this is what happens."
...
My dad is tribal.
So is mine
My aunts religious
I believe in god and I don't approve of this. Now I ain't full out "ZOMG GODZ RAEL U R STUPID" religious but I don't like it when atheist shove they're beliefs in my face and this has taken it to far.
