OH GOD
THE CITYS WILL FALL THE EARTH WILL CRUMBLE!

AND PENNYS BEING MELTED DOWN WILL COVER THE EARTH IN A THICK BURNING COPPER LIKE LAVA!

This is idiotic imo.  It will only piss people off, and I see no reason to forget with tradition.

Can any Buddhist become a buddha?
That's sort of a hard thing to answer. Buddha is just a title which basically means great spiritual teacher of the era, or first awakened of the era or something like that. I'm a little rusty on my scriptures, but from what I remember the original pure message of buddhism needs to fully die out before another buddha will appear and spread the message again (i don't mean that in a theistic sense either, the current buddha was simply a man who had great spiritual insights).

People can however become Bodhisattvas, which are sort of the same thing to a lesser extent - great spiritual teachers who spread compassion. Tibetan buddhist believe that the Dalai lama is one for example.

But again, the buddha said to pick and believe only what applies and works with your life, so there's many scriptures that people don't follow.

Yea thats what my history teacher was telling us about.
Thought it was interesting

i dont get it, i just refer to it as god and you are trying to contradict me, all main religions that are in the USA are polytheistic.
and if you dont believe that let me elaborate for you:

Judaism: One god
Islam: One god
Hinduism: Has one god that takes many forms over reincarnation. even hindus say they are polytheistic.
Buddhism: direct descendent of Hinduism with the same gods.

all thats left is Ethnic religions, but all religions have a god, so the "in god we trust" motto can refer to anyone to them.

you guys really dont know what you are talking about
Did you really say all the key religions in America are POLYTHEISTIC?

Did you really say all the key religions in America are POLYTHEISTIC?
yes
I believe he meant Monotheistic

Ah, another step towards The New World Order11!1

This is idiotic imo.  It will only piss people off, and I see no reason to forget with tradition.

"In God we trust" is a violation of the First amendment, because the Government may not do anything at all related to religion, and therefore using the word God in our motto is a terrible idea

"In God we trust" is a violation of the First amendment, because the Government may not do anything at all related to religion, and therefore using the word God in our motto is a terrible idea
saying "In God We Trust" is not denying you your freedom to practice whatever religion you want

what

"In God we trust" is a violation of the First amendment, because the Government may not do anything at all related to religion, and therefore using the word God in our motto is a terrible idea
It doesn't violate freedom of speech or religion?

You're still free to support whatever religion you like.
Just because the 1st ammendment supports freedom of religion people assume all mottos must be non-specific.

saying "In God We Trust" is not denying you your freedom to practice whatever religion you want

what
It promotes Christianity when not everyone is Christian where as the proposed motto promotes unity of all.

I signed. Its only fair.

They are not allowed to make decisions based on religious beliefs or opinions
It promotes Christianity when not everyone is Christian where as the proposed motto promotes unity of all.
"In God we trust" could be used for multiple religions
not just Christianity
