Author Topic: Submit Blockland to Steam  (Read 2565 times)

Steam seems to now have a new submission system for games.  As Badspot and Kompressor haven't had much luck in the past, this could help out.  Maybe now Valve could give Blockland a look and put it up on Steam.  I would buy the game a second time just to have it on Steam.

How would the systems be integrated together?

What systems would be integrated?

I hate It, so no, just on that basis.

I wonder if the Master Server would be able to handle it if the player-base quadrupled overnight. Not citing any statistics here, but getting it on Steam would obviously drive up the flow of new players.

I'd have to say, though, if they were going to put Blockland on Steam, this would not be an ideal time to do it, considering the upcoming update that will make most current promotional material obsolete.

I know, an optional gaming service would ruin everything!

that would be a problem they would need much more powerful servers

More people buying the game may or may not generate more money.

Alike in previous suggestions like this, may I ask how would the key system (key recovery too) would work?

Let's keep DRM out of this for now.

I think Blockland has to pay a small fee to submit Blockland to steam unless they let indie games go on there for free which I doubt.

Badspot already makes 9 dollars per key, he might end up making less with steam.

But obviously if he gets way more keys, a nominal drop in profit per key isn't that significant.

If badspot can sell one million keys he may have about 9 million dollars, give or take.

Probably significantly less.

badspot could potentially make even more off of steam due to more people buying it, even if it makes him less per purchase.

Steam players could get an unlocked version, while the key version is the same.  It isn't that hard a concept.
