I disagree on part of your opinions, chrono and Mr. N, I feel that grapple ropes, while they take away some strategy, they add other strategy as well. You can leap off a platform then swing back up behind your target, but there's always the risk that you'll do it wrong and will fall too far to get back up.
Unless, of course, your server is full of idiots, in which case they'll just hang annoyingly in midair and nobody will win because the time runs out.

The "leap off a platform then swing back up" was one of the things I was complaining about.

you cant fight in flight. being able to hold down the grapple rope and right click to knife while grappling would be a cooler idea.

You mean all of them?

..Have you ever used the grapple rope? Its unreliable and buggy as hell.

Pinata fights.

not if there the same weapon

not if there the same weapon
That's what he was saying.

1. No, most are not idiots.
2. Yes I have, and despite it's unreliability at long range, I still find it useful in some situations.

Well then we agree on the point and disagree on the significance. I feel it adds a certain degree of strategy, although it's true that the idiot 'omg run' people ruin it for everyone.

-I still find it useful in some situations.-

IE: Jumping off like a wimp to avoid death, grappling to safety/obtaining abnormal momentum extending your knifes reach to an absurd level.

And I right?

Nope.
Does it really extend knife reach? Or did you mean indirectly?
I don't jump off to avoid death, I use it to attempt sneak-attacks.
...FROM BEHIND!
Also, it's apparently possible to slowly climb towers with it, if you swing right.
Now a vertical grapple knife TDM taking place on the sides of a large tower.
THAT is a cool server idea.

Well you see, the butterfly fine mainly used for Knife TDM's is projectile based, not a raycast. This means you can 'lead' the short lived projectile fired by swinging it. If you move fast enough forward, the projectile will move at a normal rate additive to your speed. This makes the range of the weapon extend greatly. It also makes the aiming while sidestepping inaccurate.
I still don't know why that issue has never been discussed before.

As for that tower idea, I admit, that would work and be really neat.

Wow, that shoulda been fixed long ago.
And YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!
I should totally make that if I can find a way to script this.

Just make the knife a raycast weapon.

Just make the knife a raycast weapon.
'k, I'll look into it.
I had trouble with the Grapple Knife because I can't figure out how to make it do something when the jet button is clicked.
And the other problem with the Grapple Knife weapon is that we need both the left AND right click keys to be sensitive to holding down and releasing. Idk if any current weapons can do this.

Is it that hard to use auto correct?

you missed "tacking"

Do not combine the knife and the grappling hook together. Who the hell though it would be a good idea to put a grappling hook in knife TDMs anyway. I liked how it use to be when you had just a knife and  there was actually a way of falling.

1. Trench Shovel:
-Left click tack Dirt
-Right click place Dirt

It's incredibly annoying for a right handed person to place bricks by right mouse click.
