I never really liked betas, because when the game comes out everything is fresh, complete, and exciting. Betas sort of take that whole "good things come for those who wait" thing.

EDIT:
Unless its a beta for an already finished game (like TF2 beta)

Okay so I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway.

When the finished game is released, what happens to all the beta copies? Do they just stop working or can we still use them? Also, do the people who participated in the beta get the game for free, or even a discounted price?

I think the answer to the second question is no but I just thought I'd clarify.

in other news, I swear to christ, the bots in this game wallhack like loving crazy. I come around the corner at the bottom of the long hall in de_italy and saw a terrorist bot coming toward me down the hall. the very instant my head was around the corner, he headshots me with an AK from further than halfway up the corridor. loving bullstuff.

that's just one of many instances of the same thing happening.

yes I know it's still in beta but this is ridiculous. you'd think they'd at least attempt to prevent this from happening.

Also, I seem to have a hard time killing anyone. I'm sure it's not my aim; I nail someone several times in the head with an assault rifle, but they don't die. Then of course I'm killed almost instantly whenever someone shoots me, regardless of distance. What's up with that?

I get this, too. I unloaded an entire clip from an SMG into the back of this bot's head from no more than 50 feet away, and while reloading, he flips around, fires a few shots, one of which headshots me, and the killcam says he's only lost like maybe 20 HP.

Valve made the hitboxes smaller

But apparently they still suck
