Author Topic: Modified Camera Events for Cinematic Angles  (Read 1228 times)

Could some talented scripter out there modify the camera events (somewhere on the forums or rtb) to offer more views than the cardinal directions? For example, add North East, South West, North West 45degrees down, South East 45degrees up.
It would be handy for making cutscenes with events.

Would also love a fly thing so you could smoothly do something like

Onactivate self Camerafly (Enter brick name here) (Enter Rotation here)

Or rather set camera to fly between 2 bricks and smoothly rotate it's aim between 2 bricks.

Pathcam won't allow you to change paths in the middle of one path. It also requires some kind of movement, which I'd rather not have, because the timing of the end of the event is difficult to set up with just a speed slider.

always found that too confusing

I actually used it today and I mean, like I said before, it's tolerable as a place-holder, but there are a few issues. One that I came across today was when you try to create one event of camera movements transition into another, even with the event specifically made to make a smooth transition, it brings the view back to the player and resend the "Press light key to exit camera blah" Which didn't work may I add.

isn't there a freelook option?

If this was made, there would still be no "Camera_End" event to auto kick a player from camera mode.

I want to see a "Camera_End" event made.

Yes, that camera_end event would be crucial.
Also, the point isn't to let the player look all around in a cutscene pflack.

Why does everybody think that camera events were ONLY useful for filming?
I make full on cut scenes with them and more options would help me greatly.

I've never done any blockland filming. All about the storyline and the gameplay right now. I'm really hoping a talented scripter will make this so that I won't have to improvise....

they do? for normal gameplay i just use rotational cameras to see in other places :D
