The URL is now dead because it was shut down - but if anyone else remembers, this was a forum prototype built by a student for his portfolio; he offered the design to Badspot but he declined and it was eventually killed and never seen again.

In my opinion, I really loved this design. It was a lovely dark blue, and it looked generally much nicer than the default SMF theme (Which is this). The logo was really neat too.

Does anyone else remember the old prototype?

Also, Wayback Machine has nothing but text. :C

If you want a custom theme for the board why not use Stylish? There are innumerable themes around. Badspot sure as hell won't change this theme.

Why didn't Badspot go with that design?

Unless he was aiming for pure simplicity, because that design looks absolutely spectacular.

It's nice but too monotone in coloring. I prefer the current theme.

Perhaps but that wouldn't prevent Badspot from changing the theme. There are thousands of free SMF themes. besides it's not like he's poor or anything. Even if a theme did cost money he would be more than capable of affording it.

i like the way the forum looks now alot better. more clean and professional, plus not all that googly text you see in the image that makes it look somewhat silly

Maybe Badspot just doesn't care?

I mean, only implementing a visual improvement would be pretty shallow given... you know.
