Probably only because of the Minecraft textures that he is most likely using as a placeholder.

i don't know about you coders, but when i need a placeholder i just grab something from my piles of scripts
he probably hopefully did that with this

i know, but even so, it still looks very blocky. but whatever

EDIT: what coding language is the DCPU running on?

assembly
or do you mean what he coded the codeing code on

asdf

probably not
i could be wrong, but it's SIMILAR to assembly, not EXACTLY assembly. having a decent grasp of the assembly language would be a good idea.

the only coding language i ever knew was NXC, lol

And I tried slapping a texture on there just to see what it would look like: http://0x10c.com/screenshots/004.png

that's hot
this better come out soon

Checking Notch's twitter, it turns out he's half-assing the game's physics. Really sounds bad. Of course scripting out physics makes it run faster, but the fancy math is what makes it actually physics and not just scripted action movement. Having it all predefined and flat will stand out, especially in later stages as you build on the game. And since this is one of the base things, he'll have the hardest loving time correcting it later on. I hope he goes back to 'fancy math' before it is too late.

The textures the minecraft blocks currently have were supposed to be placeholders.

Basically, the game will have almost no textures, and he is trying to make it look like how they'd imagine the future in the 1980s.

I couldn't understand 80% of what they said, isn't there a video made by people who aren't trying to be edgy that you could use instead?
