japan makes sushi and nuke power..
sushi power.

better yet, why not dispose of it in the deep, deep, deep ocean, possibly the Mariana trench

I don't want nuclear waste sitting in my ocean.
Being able to be dispersed through the sea, or getting into sea-life.

If it gets in deep-sea fish there's nothing to say it can't find it's way to the surface through the food chain and then end up on the plates of people.

I think putting nuclear waste in the seas and oceans is a bad idea all around.

ok.....jettison it to the moon from a returnable shuttle or other spacecraft?

Nuclear power is safer and cleaner and more efficient than any other form of power out there, but the general fear the media caused about chemicals causes everyone to hate them.

When Fusion power comes out it'll be obsolete anyway.

Very expensive, And could potentially add to the problem of space junk.

having floating nuclear time bombs in close orbit is not ideal

honestly, until we can find a way to get rid of the waste efficiently it's a bust.

Implying that nuclear waste can explode.

Once when our family was going to Cedar Point we passed a nuclear powerplant in Ohio, the big tower with steam coming from it was cool.
