i rather have realistic lighting and more fun

i only use slate maps, nothing is lost for me when we get the update. it's a biased poll

Same. Interior and terrain is "fun" for about 5 minutes. Slate is the most practical building option.

what if you don't want to build, and instead want to just drive around/skii/fly?

what if you don't want to build, and instead want to just drive around/skii/fly?
then get the forget off a building game

or build it out of bricks

Skiing works on well built ramps, I was doing it earlier at Beachbums.

Flying is fine for slate. Used to host airport RP's where I'd ferry people to and from cities (they would freebuild in either).

Driving around endless slate is no more mind melting then driving around endless terrain. Cars are only good for city RPGs to me. Sometimes do races with them on slate.

I think this update will help me start building in Blockland again. Me and many others suffer from builder's block. It's pretty annoying, because at first I get inspired to build, then start up Blockland, then I lose inspiration seeing how limited I am and stuff, how bland stuff looks, followed by boredom and frustration, but with the new update, there are a lot of possibilities for me to build something that I could never build with legos when I was younger.

why does the poll imply that shadows and shaders is less fun?
what kind of fun exactly do terrains and interiors add?

what if you don't want to build, and instead want to just drive around/skii/fly?

Driving is kinda wonky on bricks right now, but that supposedly being fixed.

I've found flying fine on slate. And personally I've found dogfights ridiculously fun in cities.

Dogfighting with brick-built city in v20: Planes fly straight through buildings and through the map

Dogfighting with brick-built city in v21: Planes explode upon hitting something, causing damage to bricks also

I don't know where you got the idea that vehicle and brick physics are changing

I don't know where you got the idea that vehicle and brick physics are changing
Especially because all you have to do is download rampaging vehicles and this is already possible.

Uhhhhh. this whole thing is stupid anyways. It should have never had been mentioned anyways. I'd rather not have this happen or at least not know that it's going to happen.

this is incredibly stupid. They aren't removing interiors and terrain JUST for damn shaders and lighting, they are also removing them because they are restricting so much of the games delevopment.

If you gave a care and went and looked at the development topic you would actually know this, rather then seeing "interiors and terrain being removed" and going insane.

they could have done this update probably months before they announced it, but that wouldn't include the shadows and shaders. they knew that if they just announced "we're removing slopes and bedroom and all the maps for some good changes!", there would be much more people against it.

right now there's still quite a lot of people against the update, even after videos and pictures were posted that look cool. and there's even more people that are completely unaware of this change. every day when i host there's usually one person who is shocked to find out about the update when people talk about it. "wait, THEY'RE REMOVING BEDROOM!!?"

Orion, most people who are against the update don't really care what anyone else has to say about it.

"Removing terrains and interiors will remove the problems they cause, and we will get better vehicle physics."
"How do you know if Badspot and kompressor will actually improve them?"

Most arguments we have for the update, are from Badspot and kompressor themselves. They know what they are doing with the game. But then people who don't want the update shoot all these arguments down with their opinion and skepticism. They don't believe that we will get anything else after this update. That terrains and interiors will be gone just for shadows and shaders, and that the claim that removing them will allow for easier updates is just to help calm people down. That we won't get those improvements that terrains and interiors are stopping us from getting. I think that is absolute crap.

People would have flipped out even more over the fact that we weren't getting something right away. If we were getting some sort of better AI system that can navigate through bricks and such - for an Adventure Mode, people would love it. But it just had to be a graphics update, so no one believes that we will get anything else after the update. So people are stuck on the fact that the developers are choosing graphics over gameplay, that there there will not be any gameplay updates afterwards.

Ikr + I can see Blockland V40 now. It's just like the Blockland graphics would turn to Halo Reach graphics. I would like that but, i bet that it would be almost impossible for a game like Blockland.

And i would like a physics update better where you blow the bottom out of a skycraper then it becomes unstable and just collapses and when big bricks like a 5x1x2 brick fall on you it kills you in a minigame. But then there would be options in the minigame menue to turn the physics off. But it always seems to be graphics in every video game i look at.
