Nah, I just have an opinion. I care about the environment, but we're a bit to strict these days about it.

You do realize the Earth sustains our very civilization and if we fail to take care of it we're dooming ourselves?

You underestimate how much the earth can handle. We are seriously overdoing it.

We NEED to overdo it, lol.

We NEED to overdo it, lol.
Why? Humanity barely puts a dent in the earth with it's silly contraptions and mining methods unlike what some morons are lead to believe. We might as well as put a cap on volcanoes then because it produces more pollution in a single eruption than the City of New York can in a day.

The earth is not fragile

The earth is a bajillion years old and it's dealt with worse.

"I care, but not enough to actually care."

Seriously people, when has it ever seemed like a good idea to shoot chemicals into the ground, to release methane, to then burn? The only way we can save what's left of this stuffton polluted, flying orb we call home is to completely drop burning things to run a turbine, and find new solutions to a greater problem.

Solar energy and wind energy are the big two. If we can re-evaluate our infrastructure to be made up of at least 70% of both these and hydroelectric power, we'd be golden. Nuclear energy is also extremely promising, as long as we continue to keep regulations and inspections on these places up to a military standard. Then, one real cool idea is the idea of using nuclear fusion to run turbines. Essentially, the same process the sun uses, which seems to have done a good loving job at warming everything up so far.

Honestly, at some point, if we don't understand that the only reason we aren't all using electric cars, and powering our own homes with other alternatives to petroleum, coal, and natural gas, is all because of big corporations that need us to keep buying their crap to run our lives, then perhaps we deserve to suffer in a toxic cloud of our own soot and ash. :/

You've been misinformed. Humanity has vastly changed the global climate through layering of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and the continuing chain reaction of our ice caps melting. We've done this. Nothing like this has ever happened in history; yes there is a cycle of heating and cooling, but we're no longer on that cycle. We've warmed up to the point that things are going to start going to hell so fast that we won't be able to stop them in time to save civilization, and the sad part is that it's people like you that are delaying that process by not being completely outraged at just why we're in this mess in the first place.

The thing is, wind and solar sources produce stuff for energy compared to the others. I would much rather build a nuclear power plant that can power cities instead of a solar panel farm that hardly powers 5 blocks.

We also need to finish making those fast-fission nuclear reactors. We can get rid of the waste from normal nuclear plants that way as well.

I say we forget the environmentalists and drill for whatever the forget we want.

And USE it.
it's not even about pro environment anymore, this is loving with our drinking water

so you're handicapped

fracking is bad stuff

forgets with out drinking water and isn't even that valuable of a resource

we ought chase some more reusable method of power

Sources that I just looked at say that a single, industrial wind turbine can power 160 homes, which includes the factor that it's not always windy.

Imagine that, a simple pole with a turbine attached to the top, minimal maintenance, no pollution, occasional bird death; 160 homes.

Imagine every neighborhood having one. Imagine our energy grid fitting the climate and geography of our nation. Windy areas are utilized with turbines, sunny areas are utilized with solar panels, larger rivers are dammed up with even more efficient dams, desolate areas are fitted with nuclear facilities that would make the current Paloverde Power Planet that is probably powering my stuff right now, weep in shame.

I want you to understand that yes, alternatives are expensive at first. But once a few international corporations fully back something, you can make it as inexpensive as stuff, just as power plants are today. The only thing holding us back is the fact that the people that have been polluting the environment the most are the ones that have benefited the most. And it's hard to argue against billions of dollars.

I'm afraid I don't have a mental condition, stop tossing that term around so carelessly like a child with a hand grenade. I guess I am a little ignorant of the subject but there is something about this that seems like bullstuff to me.

that kinda deals with the environment, right?

most redneckcigarettes get their water from wells and stuff i thought

Then read up on it.
